I'm obsessed with seeing Canyon de Chelly for reasons, I'm sure I'll figure out when I get there. Then, we'll be stopping on the way back down to Sedona at Second Mesa and/or Walpi. I wanted to be in the footsteps of not only the ancients, but of painter Maynard Dixon and author Tony Hillerman who are two of my favorites. They nourish me in between visits.

We'll spend at least three full days in Sedona. I'll be meeting up with someone who owned the bed and breakfast I stayed at in 2001. We've kept in touch, so she can fill me in on points of interest outside the travel books. Montezuma's Castle is one other place I want to see. This will be my second visit to Sedona. I can't wait to recharge my inspirational batteries for more painting. I'm so drawn to this place. But then you all know about that DONTCHA?

When I last visited several years ago, the development of the area below was a loud, machinery filled distraction. My memory has nearly erased that negative part and focused on the wheels and the beauty of the spot. I've been gathering stones for my own wheel, but in the form of a medicine wheel garden for this lush green part of the country.
I'm planning a visit to Sedona for a few days between April 10th and the 20th, and I have a few questions I was hoping someone might be able to answer. I'm curious to know if there are any specific places of power/beauty in the area that you could recommend, or any guides/organizations that lead spiritual tours through them. I'm also in search of an affordable place to stay for a couple of days -- I'm thinking of camping, but not sure if April is a good time to do that. If not, does anyone know someone interested in renting out an extra room or couch? Finally, does anyone know of any healer who works with Peyote, San Pedro Cactus, or other plant medicines in the area? Any information would be much appreciated,

Thanks in advance, and be well!
Some underground events or clubs would be nice too. We're partial to techno, house ,psytrance, aliens and strange ethnobotany.

Anyone interested in exploring dance as a sacred, yogic practice should take this workshop! You are invited to attend this FREE "Tantric Dance of the Sacred Feminine" introductory workshop! Come prepared to move and dance.

The Sanskrit word 'Tantra' translates to mean 'to weave and expand'. Tantric dance can be seen as a yogic dance practice that serves to bring the mind, heart, body and spirit into oneness. In tantric dance the focus is on consciously connecting with and flowing/directing the life-force energy throughout the body with conscious, organic dance movement, breathwork and sound. Through yogic breathing and focused dance movement we take powerful journeys deep within ourselves to facilitate profound holistic healing and increased well-being. Learn to energize the chakra system, clear our auras, awaken our kundalini energy, align with the rhythms of the cosmos and realize our divine essence & empowerment; awakening to the divinity within ourselves that we may become living temples for the divine to express through us. Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement.

Just thought I'd let you know whats going on in our neighborhood, I am reposting my blog here:

So the school my daughter goes to is a charter, a Waldorf inspired school that is really an amazing program. The program has taken a lot of work to get off the ground by way of finding a location and state funding and many other efforts. It finally got its charter last fall and has been situated at the Church of the Nazarene basement under contract as a rental unit until more permanent foundation can be aquired (and $30,000 worth of renovations to accomodate the tiny school and its specs), The concept for the future land for the school will include proper organics, including hay bale building, a farm, an full out feast garden, goats, pigs, you name it, the vision is there, just waiting for proper locale and funding. So... the church aquired new pastors since the school year started and have evicted the school on grounds of paganism and not teaching creationism. Sounds ignorant right? It is. Especially since the day they gave the eviction notice was also a day that was celebrated in honor of Archangel Michael and the slaying of the dragon. There are some mighty big lessons being taught and learned in our little corner of the microcosm... Send loving vibes, I know the Angels will Prevail!

I'll be making the trip out with some friends I met at Burning Man over the Xmas holidays. One friend has briefly visited before, the rest of us have never gone. We're definitely into the non-resort type of stay... we'd prefer a small hotel or B&B over the touristy Enchantment Rock type of place. Our focus is being together again, exploring the geography and unique energy of the area, good food, unusual experiences, and meeting interesting people.

If you have any "musts" for Sedona, please share. There's a lot of info on the web, and it's almost overwhelming... not sure where to start first, but as we'll only have 3-4 days this time around, what should we try and do?

I'm still new to this tribe thing, but I am a nice person, and have the best buses in the world. I use school buses to haul medical and material aid to some of poorest places in the world (Haiti, Chiapas Mexico, El Salvador, and Nicaragua) and buy and sell them, and bus parts to support the project. I take every penny I make and convert it directly back into school supplies, medical supplies, tools, generators, and whatever the folks ask for specifically, (no junk, no used clothing) and then drive it down in person (except Haiti, that's $6000 thru the Panama Canal. Ouch)

I sell buses to folks that are 100% functioning in every way when they leave my hands, and also give any body thirty days to return the bus if unsatisfied. Nobody ever has, but it's OK, I'll just sell it to somebody else. you will also get a lifetime of free advice before and after you get a bus from me, I'm avaiable 7 days a week within reason, and after having dismantled 14 buses, and owning about 60,I am pretty knowledgable about their inner workings. Also got lots of good used bus parts, at the best price anywhere in the US. Ii have no overhead, just my Mazda mini truck and some tools.

We are on our respective spiritual journey and live on opposite coasts, though we will be loving and exploring together in Sedona. We are involved with Reiki---she has had her first attunement and I will receive master level attunement at the end of May, so we are particularly interested in the energy to be garnered there. Does anyone have any suggestions on where the most powerful energies are? Do we need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to access any of these places? If so, would you please post soon so that I may reserve the proper vehicle? Many thanks for any suggestions.

Greetings..

We will be visiting Sedona around Thanksgiving.. We've been there (here) before, about 2 years ago. We were interested in feeling the vortex energy, so we printed out a map we got from the web, and try to find some vortices. We believe we did track some down, judging from the energy we felt. The type of energy was consistent, at least, with what was described.

However, I'm sorry to say that, the energy did not feel particularly good. We didn't feel the sheer energy you feel at other spiritual places, say Machu Picchu, or Tirupati in South India, for example. The energy we felt in Sedona felt that it had too many emotions attached to it; it felt unclean.

I'm wondering if we actually did hit the vortices? Maybe we didn't.

Maybe someone can offer some opinions as to where we can go this time? Any opinions are welcome. I'd also like to know if anybody else has felt those "attachments" we felt when we were there last.

Thank you, and blessings...

We need to throw a party here, a decent one. I just posted to OHM as Mike King is a great dj and i hear he wants to boogie about Sedona soon. I've spotted way to many locals, talented locals, it's time we start building the outer tribe a bit. It's too quiet round here! (not really, just looking to bring people in, a party will do it usually!).

We need a venue where performers can juggle their hips, hoops, and or fire (who knows!?) We need a couple genres of dj's, psytrance, ambient, drums, etc...

Shall we? Where? When?

I feel terribly sorry for the loss that has been caused by the biggest catastrophe of tsunami in history. I am utterly lost for words to offer for the deceased and their family. I just pray to god that their souls shall rest in peace.

Just today, WHO has released a warning for the possible emergence of epidemics. It has reported that at the moment, the hygiene has dramatically worsened, and the epidemic such as cholera could spur in any minute. If so, as many people could die from infectious diseases as were killed by the tsunami.

As a Hado (vibration) researcher, I am truly worried about this disaster. As well as the hygiene issue, I feel that the “vibrational fields” of the countries have extremely deteriorated. The “field” is created by feelings of fear, grief, worry, lack of trust, anger, loneliness, and helplessness, and could energize the malevolent microorganisms that prefer this kind of environment.

People cannot help but have these feelings, and they probably carry the feelings with them. Many people feel this way, and there seems to be some plundering going on, but their feeling of anger and hostility can only multiply the negativity of the “field”. Also, we must take into account the emergence of a new epidemic.

We have to limit the negative field in any way possible. I believe that there is already a spreading Hado (vibration) of fear due to the terrorist attack and bombing, and it is like a gasoline station with an oil leak that is about to explode.

What can we do? The only way is for people from all over the world to pray for the recovery of the affected area. The prayer will definitely carry far with the purity of its Hado. Therefore, from today, let’s close our eyes for a few second before our meal and send words of prayer to the countries. Let’s send a prayer for them before we go to sleep. Also, when we pray during the end of year and the new year ceremony, let us send a prayer first and foremost for world peace.

Through the research of the water crystal over the last ten years, I have proven that people’s pure energy of consciousness can change the water in areas that people have prayed for, regardless of the distance. Also, the most effective Hado prayer is the feeling of Love and Thanks. Now is the time to send everyone’s feeling of Love and Thanks to the earth’s water.
